As a regional CC Our mission is to bring our music to places where people need faith and love, to work with local communities around the region, to record our music and spread it out to the world as a tool of reconciliation between different people. Music as a tool of hilling the pain and suffering and creating a brighter future through crossing borders and melting walls.
In the Jordan Valley With 6 Israelis and 6 Jordanians (Jewish, Muslims, Christians, Palestinians, Israelis, Jordanians)
In which this meeting was for writing our vision and feeling the concept all together
It was a miracle that No words can describe.
The amount of light was spread all over the middle east.. Without exaggeration.
We filled in all the applications, writing down our vision and we have a strong will for making change to help to promote peace and love in this region and in our world.
During the Gaza war we were in a daily contact, helping each other with the pain and we tried to increase the amount of light through the difficulties.
March 2009 :
Imagine yourself… 20 musicians - 3 religions - 3 languages – 4 nations - 4 days together- playing music, sharing our feelings, laughing, crying, cooking together, dancing, just being.
Especially after the Gaza conflict it wasn't easy to create our meeting and it brought up many feelings...We felt that this is the time to get together. This is the time to heal our wounds.
For 3 days we were held by the magic of love, faith and good will.
Our tunes, coming from the deep roots of the Middle Eastern music which combined together, Hebrew – Arabic, a fusion of ancient prayers and new sounds. Our instruments are telling our story - The beauty of the Middle East.
When a large group of people are play music together, they have to listen to each other in order to learn and practice and during the tuning of the instruments the listening becomes even deeper.
For 3 days we practiced, we were talking about the history and our future, about the conflicts and problems in the region and every morning our music became brighter and lighter.
On the third day we entered the special Church at Shatana to sing our songs.
Standing there in the house of God – Muslims, Christians and Jews, singing in Arabic and Hebrew, that was an uplifting experience for all of us, we were crying tears of joy and love and felt the angels with us.
"The Musaiques brings the light to the big city!!"
On the 4th day we drove to Amman, Jordan's capital, to record our new materials, 3 songs.
One of them "Ana elech", a Hebrew prayer written by Israel Nagara,16th century Jewish - Sufi poet.. And the lyrics are talking about the prophet Jonah, who ran from God and found himself in the mouth of the whale. Through the lyrics we understood that we can't escape from God and we can't escape from each other. We are living in the same region so it's about time to find the beauty of our proximity.
After the recording we had our first performance! In a beautiful art gallery, Where 60 people came to the concert that started with tense faces from the audience who didn't know what to expect, and at the completion of the performance there where with smiling faces, shining eyes and dancing! All of us together singing "Salam".
At the same day of the performance we had our first published article –
A week after, we had our first Radio interview for a South African station, who held a whole hour show about "Musaique", interviewing Jamil in Amman- Jordan and myself in Jerusalem – Israel – live!
A few days later we had an interview for a youth magazine in Jordan.
